  119. <P>ARIA Monitor is a web server plug-in which captures all traffic between
  120. browsers and the server. It sends all captured data to ARIA Recorder for
  121. processing. ARIA Monitor requires minimal server resources to run.</P>

  123. <P><B>ARIA RECORDER</B> -- Data Processing</P>
  124.  
  125. <P>ARIA Recorder parses the data captured by ARIA Monitor and sends the
  126. labeled data to ARIA Store for storage in the object database. ARIA Recorder
  127. buffers the incoming data, allowing ARIA to handle surges of activity without
  128. losing data. Its threaded architecture allows it to efficiently scale up
  129. or down to accomodate web traffic.</P>

  131. <P><B>ARIA STORE</B> -- Database Maintenance</P>

  133. <P>ARIA Store maintains ARIA's integrated database, which uses ObjectStore
  134. technology from ObjectDesign, Inc. ARIA automatically maintains data at
  135. a granularity which decreases over time - more recent data are divided
  136. into very fine time intervals, while older data are grouped into larger
  137. time intervals. This allows you to obtain detailed reports of recent activity,
  138. which is most likely to be of interest. At the same time, it makes efficient
  139. use of disk space and reduces the need for database maintenance.</P>
